Tresholds

Leap and bounds

Well things have moved on fast since my last post, Jules, Bugsey and Smartie have now settled down as a herd of three, we let them all through to our little woodland today, and they loved running through the tree lines, weaving in and out of the trees, a special moment was watching all three of them running side by side down the avenue of trees, each in his own little avenue. They have certainly started to gel. Another special moment was when Smartie having run around with the boys, ran back to me and just hung out with me for a while before running back to the boys.

Take the time it takes - Boxing Day

Building on the success of yesterday, we repeated yesterday’s strategy. Smartie goes out first with hay in the small liberty pen, when he’s relaxed, I go back for Jules, he’s brought up online to the 190ft liberty pen, after some nose touching, and smelling of air, both are relaxed and so I let Jules offline, Dai bring Bugsey along to join the party, put he’s still full of himself, so keep him on line.

Harmony begins here

Obviously a lacking of savvy yesterday, so some discussion later, a new plan for introducing Smartie to the herd, we take Smartie out first online and take out trouble maker Bugsey also online with my husband Dai.

Smartie meets the herd

With snow on the ground, we decided caution to be the best option, so took Smartie out online to get to know his new home.

A new beginning
