Africa: Our Journey #21 Questions
Another beautiful day! Africa doesn't have his blanket on anymore so he was covered in mud again.
When we work on Liberty, Africa seems to benefit with a review of the pattern (Figure 8 and Weave) on-line and then off-line. I'm not sure if he remembers the patterns and is playing dominance games or if he just doesn't remember and gets confused. He will play "stick to me" as I walk with him through the pattern. Then when I step aside, he stops and does not continue the pattern. Maybe I'm confusing him but playing "stick to me" and then expecting him to continue on his own. I know I have to be patient and take the time it takes.
As I read through this it sounds a bit confusing. Africa really is doing well with both patterns at liberty. He can also do sideways game at the wall at liberty.
Being a RBE, liberty is a challenge for him. He can get "lost" as my Horsenality Profile Report says. It also says that repetitive tasks can be his aptitude, but I don't want to bore him. Right now we are working on Freestyle and Liberty and spending undemanding time. I'm hoping this plan is keeping him interested. He seems eager to come in with me when I go to his pasture.
I don't have these thoughts and ideas truly figured out at this time, so my writing seems to ramble as it does in my brain.
Lots of questions right now.
