Just starting out
Well, I had to wait (impatiently might I add) for my carrot stick to arrive.
Jumping out of bed so I could be at the stable for 7am to play with Tilly, her face was a picture when she thought she'd get fed and instead - "you want me to play. Now?"
We started with the friendly game and she watched me intently before realizing that actually, she didn't have to do anything. Within minutes she lowered her head. Had she gone to sleep? Nope, she was watching me out of the corner of her eye.
I continued and when the string went over her back the first time, she jumped but stayed still and then went back to lowering her head.
She did very well, bless her, so I walked forward and she followed so we trotted and then halted. I managed to get her to back up with phase 2 (we have practiced this for a while). She started to lick and chew.
All in all, a very successful lesson and I left her munching her carrots. xx
