Natural Journey

Getting a natural group together in the south of  Tasmania

seeking forever home for rescue mare

Luna has had a lot of work and is now ready to find her forever home. She is 16yrs however she looks more like 6! And stands at a very solid 15.1 or so. She has show quality looks, dark bay with lovely star, perfect confirmation and lovely big movement. She has a good Standie type canter and naturally tracks under in a walk and trot. Luna was used as a broodie by prev owners who also starved and neglected her so would prefer those days be left behind her- to help her get the best second start she has one further session with trainer and we would consider her green broken to saddle.

*ring ring* Fast Track calling- do you accept the charges?

In a word Hellyes! It's confirmed, position at Aus 2011 Fast Track, Funds, Transport, Time off Work- Noah and I are on our way to achieve the dream. Me, my crippled legs, and my 10.2 pony will be burning it up in 6 short months, better get cracking! I think today is honestly the best day of my life- I am proof that there's more to horses than riding, so so much more and I look forward to sharing the joys of Partnership all over SA. This is just one more step towards that goal. OMG I am just ecstatic!

little steps can make a big difference- BIG steps are just a little better...

Today I got some wonderful news, my Parelli dream is coming true! I have been accepted as a ground-skills only student which means I am able to attend the Fast Track in Sydney as soon as I get confirmation of funds. If I do well, with my little mate Noah this is the doorway to becoming a Parelli Professional! I feel amazing, empowered, awed and a little frightened. So many thoughts- it's finally happeninging, the hard work has paid off, God is awesome, omg I'm going to miss my cats and my Archie, Ohhhh my GOD I am finally on my way!

Pony Play

Even in this foul weather you can have the best moments with your horses- today was the single best day I have ever had with my pony.

Today one year ago...

Today exactly one year ago I was heading from home near Adelaide down to where my lease horse was kept, over 90 km away near Normanville. I did this every weekend that I could manage it, it's a long drive, and often the weather was crap or I couldn't afford the extra fuel, or I had other responcibilities that kept getting in my way. It was difficult having him live so far away, meaning I would have to suffer up to a month without visiting, but at the time it was necessary.

The First Step

Ever since I could hold a pencil I was drawing horses, so this life was chosen for me before I was able to make choices. As a child nothing excited me more than seeing grazing horses in the paddocks whip by from the back seat of the car, visiting the RDA pony rides at the local show where I spent all my allowance, every toy I had was horse, my bedroom walls were covered in pictures and visitng my Grandmother out of town was the absolute peak when she'd put me up on the back of her cranky old Pally gelding Rebel.
