The Parelli 12 foot line...

I ordered my first official Parelli 12 foot line back in December.  I love it...nothing compares as far as quality and functionality. 

While going through papers yesterday I ran across the instruction sheet that came with the 12 foot line it reads:  The best rope in the world is not a lead rope...It's a line of communication between you and your horse. 

OMG !  What an eye opener...how did I miss that nugget of information!  Up until now I had only used the Horseman's Halter and ropes for playing on the ground...other than that I lead my horses around with conventional leather halters and leads.  So last night I opted to change and what a difference it makes.  I trimmed bridle paths, rasped rough edges on their feet, groomed and intertwined some of the 7 games as needed...I actually used the line as a line of communication. I had to stop looking at that rope as a lead rope.  How do we so often miss the simple things in life.  I cannot believe I did not see this before.  Some days I think I am so focused on the goal I miss the little things (which are really big) along the journey...
