Africa: Our Journey #54 Elmers or Superglue?

I'm hoping this horrendous heat subsides soon.  I have spent more undemanding time with Africa this week than anything else.  It was just too hot for anything else.

Today we did a bit of bareback riding.  I'm just not sure if I have my balance point or not.  I can ride at a walk with my hands off the reins, but when it comes to asking for another gait I become unconfident and tend to grab the reins.  I practiced 'gluing' my buttocks to Africa's back.  I must say that when I felt the glue stick I could ride his gait. (Africa is a gaited horse.)  But at times Africa moves from gait to trot to gait again.  His trot is much harder to ride and I bounce up and down.

I am excited about the 'glue' I did find and am anxious to try again.
