In order to achieve your horsemanship goals through the Parelli levels, you need to understand the audition and self-assessment processes. This workshop introduces you to the Parelli audition process - a demonstration of your overall savvy, skills and relationship with your horse in the Parelli program.
The focus will be on the self-assessment tasks as we will go through each task and work on any challenges you encounter. Then, we will go through the audition process so you will be completely prepared to video and submit your audition when ready.
What will I learn?
- Self-Assessment tasks: what is required for each task
- The Parelli Patterns: which are needed for L1/L2 completion
- Audition Process: the audition requirements and tips for creating your audition video
Parelli Equipment Needed: Rope Halter, 12’ or 22’ lead rope, carrot stick, and savvy string
What should I do to get the most out of the workshop?
Practice the 7 games in everything you do. They aren’t the 7 jobs so put them to a purpose and use them to learn to communicate with your horse for practical applications.
Some ideas for using “purpose” before you even think you are “training”:
· Rub horse with halter (friendly)
· Have horse put head down to halter (porcupine game)
· Back your horse into and out of the stall (driving, yo-yo, squeeze games)
· Walk a few steps sideways while heading out (sideways game)
· Send horse through gate then turn and face (squeeze game)
· Send horse out in a circle (driving, circling game)
Don’t get stuck in Level 1 or 2 quicksand….
Keep progressing and moving forward so you and your horse can reach greater heights!!!
